Course description

Auto École Louis Collin Inc. is the only driving school in the Northwest part of New Brunswick that offers both In-Class or Online theoretical training.

Part 1:
Theoritical training
(in-class or online)

  • Introduction

  • Module 1: Different classes of driver's licence in NB

  • Module 2: Sharing the road with other users

  • Module 3: Emergency situations

  • Module 4: Traffic signs and Traffic lights

  • Module 5: Bad driving conditions

  • Module 6: Safe driving

  • Module 7: Road safety

  • Module 8: Equipment

  • Module 9: Whose fault is it?

  • Module 10: Braking

Part 2:
On the road training
(10 hours)*

* Each sessions are a 2 hour on the road training

 

Session 1
(Initiation to driving)
 

  • Explanation of the interior and exterior of the vehicle ex: seat adjustment, lights, etc.

  • Practice entering and exiting traffic by verifying the blind spots.

  • Initiate the student to downtown driving.

  • Standard parking space: distance, directions, entries and exits.

  • STOPS : regular, 3 way and 4 way.

  • Traffic lights.

  • Basic turns

  • Practice entering and exiting the SNB parking for road test.

  • Night parking, uphill, downhill, and flat parking.

  • Backroad driving

Session 2
(Urban driving and parking)

  • Revue of Session 1

  • Parallel parking techniques

  • One-way streets

  • Complex turns: to the right, to the left, and mandatory

  • Backup driving in: straight lines, to the right and to the left

Session 3
(Safe driving techniques)

  • Revue of Session 1 and 2

  • Drive onto Highway: practice entry, exit, cruise control, passing techniques, as well as how to manage emergency situations such as hydroplaning.

  • Teach parking techniques in Mall areas, and 90° backup parking.

Session 4
(Road safety)

  • Revue of Session 1, 2 and 3

  • Teach defensive driving methods such as emergency stops, or how to get back on the road.

  • Night time driving: reduced visibility, glare, speed reduction and of using high beams.

Session 5
(Road test)

  • Revue of all previous Sessions

  • Carefully explain all lights, low beam, high beam, and parking lights.

  • Revise the importance of all documents in the vehicle such as Driver’s Licence, Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Inspection, and Insurance Cards. Take all these documents while showing them and explaining their importance to the student.

  • ROAD TEST WITH THE INSTRUCTOR - the student must pass the road test with the driving school instructor in order to receive his/her driver's ed certificate.
